Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and songwriter. Her mom raised her in the USA and she was subject to many racial taunts that made her feel like someone who was not wanted. After entering a ninth-grade school audition, where she was praised for her singing as she built confidence. It not only increased her confidence but her dreams were changed. She was a graduate of New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. Her professional career began at age 23 with Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and the film You've Got Mail. The biggest success of her career came with her portrayal of The Lady Of The Lake as Spamalot's initial Broadway production. Not only did she win the Tony Award, but her performance was also well-received by the critics. The following year, she was cast in the ABC program Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it.
